Course Maintenance Renovations Update

Posted on: 13 December

Over the past fortnight we have been carrying out renovations of the greens, tees and fairways. With the greens, we are focusing on reducing thatch, compaction and potential of disease. This process involved Verti Cutting greens in 4 different directions, clean up mow, coring with mini window tines, top dressing with sand and adding amendments including greens grade fertiliser and gypsum.

The greens are recovering very well, we are starting to see a fresh flush of growth to start covering over core holes and Verti Cutt lines. Over the next few weeks, they will keep improving with some light dusting, rolling and regular liquid fertilizer applications.

Renovating of the tees and fairways was a similar process as the greens apart from topdressing. With the tees and fairways, we were focusing reducing the thatch layer and compaction. They are also starting to recover as expected. Fairways should be all completed late this week or early next week.

Overall, the course is in terrific condition considering the warm temperatures we have been experiencing over the past month and lack of rainfall during spring.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding with the renovations. With your cooperation, the course will have the opportunity recover and rejuvenate allowing for better course conditions sooner.
